Well, well, well… it’s a bit weird but as the fixed gear scene is not that big after all, i thought this was too much for just a coincidence.
Wälde’s Fixed gear and bike shop Opignon, open since April 2009, seems to have inspired some guys from Lille to find a name for their brand…

Even the Logo is a bad copy!
I’m not starting the hate, the guys seems to have legit products and riders, but come on, let’s stop riping off other’s work!

This is the kind of bikes you will see if you go one day to Rembetis.
If your girlfriend allows you to visit only one bike store during a week-end in Berlin, be sure to go to this one, this is for sure the best shop i have ever seen.
The area is quite small but filled with some really nice vintage bikes. Gorgeous East-German frames are waiting among classic Colnago and Cinelli oldtimers.
Rare parts and beautifull builds at every corner, 5min into this place will drive you crazy.

Lucky Bastërds is a collective from Barcelona, Spain, that makes accessories for urban cycling, with high quality and much attention to detail. All their products are handmade by them and look very nice!!

The cycling caps are very well made, using prime materials and very nice patterns/color combos. I love their Logo and the way they display it on the hats. 2 Sizes are available but they can even make custom sizes by any request (!!!!).
Their straps look really strong and are very simple to adjust. I saw them mounted on BMX platform pedals for Polo but i guess they would also work on track pedals.

e-mail them if you want to order, or come to Geneva this July for the EHBPC as i guess they will bring stuff to sell.

And another one who tries to get some money with some cheapo complete builds out of the “singlespeed hype”! This time Floid AG – what means communication beside the logo? hmm.. guess that indicaties that they know a lot about bikes!
The plan is simple: Put up an e-shop homepage with a nearly cool name like Monopony. Build up a singlespeed bike, in only two sizes (54 or 59) with the cheapest parts found (no word about where or who made their parts) and sell them for the double to some clueless people who like to have a good lookin bike.
I just can say it again! If you dont have any clue of bikes and bikeparts but you like to buy a good and durable ride – please go to your local bike dealer and sure he will help you to build up a bicycle that is worth the money and the time you are spending on it!

Seen at the tour des Truc in Basel, last week-end, Cro-Mo is a workshop based in Switzerland, specialized in construction, revision and restoration of classic road and track steel bikes, using the best looking vintage parts you could ever find.
As i understood, the guys are doing this as a hobby, but are very, very skilled! You can check their work on their Website or their blog.

Contact (info@cro-mo.com) them to restore your vintage Colnago or if you are looking for perfectly polished old parts (they definitely had the best selection at the Veloteilboerse in Basel).

I hope they will post more pictures of this Somec Pista, cause the final build was stunning!
